Between the rocky bottoms of the North Shore and the wrecks and reefs of the South Shore, Long Island is blackfish heaven.
They’re ugly, they’re slimy, they break off rigs, they trick you at first bite, and for fall fishing on the North and South shores of Long Island and the New York Bight, tautog are one of the most sought-after fish. Click Here » |

An old timer told me once, “If you’re not getting snagged, you’re fishing in the wrong place.” Patience and preparation are two things that go a long way to become a successful tautog fisherman. Tidaltails jig’z have changed the way we fish for Togs forever! Myself, along with Capt. Rich, John and Andy have been using these jig’z for the past few years and they have changed the black fish game in many ways. Using these jig’z causes us to do nearly the complete opposite of what we have all known about black fishing. Seriously? 14lb Spinning tackle, 7ft of water and a 1/2 jig? Sounds like a joke I know, but it has been some of the most fun I had not only black fishing, but fishing in generalClick Here »
